Grelo

Grelo is a product that adapts well to the cold and humid climate characteristic of Galicia, thus becoming a highly appreciated and well-differentiated element of traditional Galician cuisine. Turnip greens are the tender shoots of turnip greens. Its appearance is that of a more or less thick stem from which some leaves sprout with flowers at the ends, it has a characteristic rather dark green color. Its high content of water, fiber, minerals and vitamins, as well as its low fat content, make turnip greens a really beneficial food for our health. Its main characteristic is its richness in vitamins A, B, C and E, even after being cooked, as well as minerals such as manganese, calcium, iron and potassium. It is also recommended to prevent constipation or obesity.
